Orange Fox TWRP R10 for Redmi Note 7 Codename Lavender

Orange Fox TWRP R10 for Redmi Note 7 Codename Lavender 1

A custom recovery is basically the main key in tweaking, modding, or fixing your phone. The most popular one nowadays is TWRP, obviously after the ClockWorkMod being discontinued.

We may also say that TWRP is the king of custom recoveries nowadays. We almost say it as the solo player frankly.

Fortunately, the rapid pace of third-party Android development produces the modified versions of TWRP emerge.

If you may have not heard yet, there are Red Wolf, Pitch Black, Orange Fox, and a bunch of unofficial TWRP recoveries.

Orange Fox and Red Wolf are the most favorite ones for us.

Orange Fox TWRP recovery is the ported version that boasts several advanced features not available within the official one.

Unlike any other unofficial TWRP, Orange Fox is the forked build. Some additional features, theme redesign, advanced compatibility, and MIUI OTA compatible are the main advantages of Orangefox recovery.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is the next iteration of Redmi Note 5. The device is available worldwide although the one in India is unique.

All Redmi Note 7 variants boast Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 (14 nm) chipset, Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260) CPUs, and Adreno 512 GPU.

The only difference is in its camera specification. While the Redmni Note 7 China, Europe, Russia, and Global variants sport 48 MP, f/1.8, 1/2″, 0.8μm, PDAF camera (paired with 5MP depth sensor camera), the Indian variant sport only 12MP, f/2.2, 1/2.9″, 1.25μm, PDAF camera (also paired with 5MP depth sensor camera).

Nevertheless, all of them have the same codename Lavender.

Currently, Redmi Note 7 has no official build of TWRP (at the time of writing). Its users have to stick with currently available alternatives.

Previously, we have shared unofficial builds of TWRP for Redmi Note 7 by LazyIndians and LR.Team WZSX150. The later one has English language but Chinese comes as default.

Have you tried them already but was not satisfied yet? Try Orangefox then! This suggestion is also applicable for you that haven’t tried them. Orangefox is better.

UPDATE: The Official Stable Version is Now Available

OrangeFox-R10.0-1-Stable-lavender.zip
Version r10.0-1 | 314 downloads | Size: 47 MB

p.s: This build is not for Redmi Note 7 Pro codename Violet.

An important update:

Apparently, the latest stable version R10.0-1 is no longer supporting MIUI OTA update. Hence, you will need to download the full MIUI ROM zip file and flash it through Orange Fox.

More importantly, its developer warns users to always leave “Disable DM-Verity” and “Disable Forced Encryption” options unticked. Otherwise, you may encounter problems.

Lastly, do not forget to format the /data partition if you want to switch back to MIUI ROM from any unofficial ones (Havoc OS, Pixel Experience, Lineage OS, etc.).
