It’s now 2020 and Redmi Note series already has its refreshment. Nevertheless, Redmi Note 7 is still an awesome piece of Android phone. It fully supports third-party developments. There have been so many tweaks, mods, and apps for the device that has a codename, Lavender.
Now you are going to see another cool mod for Lavender. Enter the AOSiP DerpFest! It is an Android custom ROM based on AOSiP by Mike Williams. An XDA member called Jimgsey along with Juan Prique as a contributor has managed to port it to a distinctive yet very stable Android 10 ROM called DerpFest.
DerpFest is an UNOFFICIAL, heavily customized build of AOSiP. It uses a base of AOSiP and adds features that AOSiP doesn’t have.Jimgsey
DerpFest uses AOSP Android 10.0 Q as its base. Linux kernel v4.x is also employed. There is not much explained about its overall features.
However, some users have proven it to work flawlessly.
Great ROM, been using December 2nd build and didn’t had any issues yet. Upgrading to latest right nowMusosoft
This ROM is great. […] otherwise the rom is very stable and smooth (I can see that you care about the rom and you really want us to have a good experience with it). Thank you very much for the rom. Maybe it sometimes doesn’t look like it or we don’t tell you this very often, but we all deeply appreciate your work!YMaty
Everything is smooth and fast, there are no lags at all and everything is stable (for me at least). Battery backup is super awesome and for each 10% of it I can get 1h of screen time which is G.R.E.A.T.AbboodSY

Step 3 – Extract the miui-platform-tools_r28.0.1-win.zip on your computer. You’ll get a folder called “platform-tools“. This step is important to make sure you use the latest version of ADB-Fastboot.
Step 5 – Reboot your phone to TWRP recovery mode. Turn off your phone completely, then press the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously. You may need to do the “swipe to confirm modifications” if this is your first time entering TWRP.
Step 6 – Choose [Wipe] from the main menu, then choose [Advance Wipe].
Step 7 – Select System, Vendor, Cache, and Data.
Step 8 – Next, do the “Swipe to wipe” action.
Step 9 – Once the wiping process is done, connect your Redmi Note 7 phone to your computer using its USB cable.
Step 10 – Copy all the zip files to the phone’s internal storage. Place the DerpFest 10 (zip), MIUI 11 firmware (zip), and Magisk (zip) files in the root directory of your phone. The root directory means the upper level or not inside any folder (/sdcard). Magisk is optional, copy it only if you want to root your phone.
Step 11 – Choose [Install] from the main menu of TWRP.
Step 12 – Locate the DerpFest 10 zip file, for instance: DerpFest-10-Official-lavender-20200106.zip. Tap on it to select it.
Step 13 – Do the “Swipe to confirm flash” action. Sit tight and wait for TWRP to flash the zip file.
Step 14 – Done? Go back to the main menu then choose [Install] again.

Step 17 – Done? Go back to the main menu then choose [Install] again. You can skip this if rooting is not one of your choices. It’s your call. Otherwise, skip directly to step 20.
Step 18 – Now find the Magisk zip file, for instance: Magisk-v20.2.zip. Tap on it to select it.
Step 19 – Do the “Swipe to confirm flash” action. Sit tight and wait for TWRP to flash the zip file. This should finish faster than flashing the ROM file.
Step 20 – Finally, you can now choose [Reboot] then choose [System].
Voila! You have successfully flashed DerpFest 10.0 ROM on Redmi Note 7. The Initial booting time takes longer than usual. Don’t worry, that’s normal.
While Redmi Note 7 on MIUI 11 is awesome, you can bring it to another level of awesomeness through a custom ROM. DerpFest offers simplicity and stability to outperform the official MIUI ROM. Thanks to its carefully-tweaked system.
Its flashing process is also straightforward. Once flashed, you can enjoy a fully-tweaked ROM with unbeatable system performance. On top of that, DerpFest supports VoLTE calls.
