Unlocking the bootloader of your Redmi 8 is just the first step to unleash the true potential for your Android phone. The next step you need to undergo is flashing a custom recovery. Why? Simple because the default stock Mi recovery has very limited features.
In the case of Redmi 8, the device already receives both the official and unofficial builds of TWRP. Both builds come with the same user interface design since the same theme is employed. Yet, the key features are also similar.
Recently, an XDA member known as Altsec has managed to build an unofficial version Orangefox recovery.
Orange Fox Recovery Project (OFRP) is an independent project porting TWRP to a distinctive recovery boasting even more advanced key features, the ones not available in the main branch for TWRP.
On top of that, OFRP ships with a completely different user interface design. Thanks to the theming function exist in the OFRP.
This Altsec’s Orangefox TWRP is an unofficial build. We’ll update the article once the official one becomes available.
There are two files: the flash-able image file (.img) and the flash-able zip file.
