These are all the versions of Google Camera (Gcam) that work on both Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A; the phones that are powered with MediaTek (MTK) chipset and have not Camera2 API enabled. Moreover, these versions are the official builds of Gcam app – not ported.
Google cam is one of popular Android app among many non-Pixel users, including Mi Fans. Xiaomi phones are popular because its price-per-performance ratio and its flexibility for third-party development. Despite the goodness offered by the default MIUI camera app, the popularity of Gcam attracts Xiaomi users to install the app.

Users need either to do trial and error or to search for other users who have tried a specific version proven to work. Unfortunately, most of those available are for phones with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
MediaTek users need more patience. There is no trick yet to enable Camera2 API, a specific Android API needed to use advanced photography features. This API is also needed for any camera app featuring manual mode.
Official GCam for Redmi 6/6A
The case is similar for Redmi 6 users. The phone is powered with Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 SoC that sports Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPUs. Hence, users cannot enable Camera2 API required by many Gcam mods such as releases by Arnova8G2, Arthur, BSG, Cstark, and so on.
Luckily, you can still enjoy the official version of the apps. You may not get all its awesomeness but you can still enjoy its coolness goodness.

The official Gcam v2.7 above allows you to capture full HD 1080p videos. There might be some missing features compared to newer versions below. However, the one above is the only version that 1080p video recording works flawlessly.
Important! Change video recording settings to HD 720p resolution. Otherwise, the app may crash during recording. Use version 2.7 if you want to capture full HD 1080p resolution.
You can check its latest version on Play Store but it may not compatible with Redmi 6/6A.
