Expect from this article:
Redmi 6 Pro is the highest variant among all members of Redmi 6. It sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset empowering Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPUs and Adreno 506 GPU. In fact, it is the Mi A2 Lite without Android One running on it.
Some users may love its specifications but may not really like the MIUI ROM running on it. Some users may simply choose the Mi A2 Lite but may not really like the A/B partitions model of Android One.
Hence, buying Redmi 6 Pro and installing a custom ROM is the alternate solution. With it, you can have all the performance offered by Redmi 6 Pro and the user interface of your choice.
Need a recommendation? Try Pixel Experience ROM! The project works on a ROM that brings Google Pixel interface (and so the experience) to any other Android phones. Luckily, Redmi 6 Pro is on the list.
Google Pixel 3, 3XL, 4, and 4XL are the flagship phones of Google, the main company that releases Android OS. Many have dreamed of it. Its pricy-level of the price is the one holding them back.
Pixel Experience ROM comes to allow other phone users to enjoy the awesomeness of Google Pixel on their very own devices.
About Pixel Experience
Pixel Experience is originally an AOSP based ROM. Recently it also comes as a CAF-based ROM but the variant seems not to sustain for long.
The ROM brings all Pixel goodies including its launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, and boot animation.
Furthermore, Pixel Experience also offers a fully working Android ecosystem with the maximum possible stability and security. The ROM also ships with all essential and useful features for the proper functioning of the device.
Shortly, you will get a proper functioning ROM with only useful features without any bloatware.
The ROM also comes with built-in Google Apps (GApps). Flashing the ROM will include all the services and some essential Google Apps. Once flashed, you no longer need to flash additional/third-party GApps.
Pixel Experience for Redmi 6 Pro comes with all the default features of PE ROM. Additionally, these features of the phone confirmed to work properly:
- RIL - Mobile data - Wifi - GPS - Camera - Flashlight - Camcorder - Bluetooth - FM Radio - Fingerprint reader - Lights - Sound/vibration - Facelock

A useful warning:
Please create backups of your important data and files. We hold no responsibility for any damages on your phone. Please process carefully and responsibly.
This flashing procedure assumes that you come from the stock MIUI ROM. Coming from another custom ROM may require flashing Firmware and Vendor patch.
Step 1. Download Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Driver zip file (miui-ADB-Driver-Installer-v1.4.3.zip) and install it on your computer. Install it on drive C: and hence you’ll have C:\adb\ folder.
Step 2. Download Android Platform Tools zip file (e.g: platform-tools_r29.0.4-windows.zip). Extract the zip file. You’ll just get a folder named “platform-tools”.
Step 3. Unlock the bootloader of your phone. Read the full guide on how to unlock MIUI bootloader officially here. Please be aware that the process will reset your phone.
Step 4. Flash TWRP Recovery on Redmi 6 Pro. Use the TWRP-SAR (System As Root) if you want to flash Pixel Experience ROM v10 (based on Android Q). You may use the other TWRP build if you want to flash PE ROM v9.0.
Step 5. Download the Pixel Experience zip file from the link above (e.g: PixelExperience_sakura-10.0-20190922-1222-BETA-OFFICIAL.zip).
Step 6. Download Magisk zip file if you want to root (eg: Magisk-v19.4.zip). Skip this if you won’t.
Step 7. Turn off your phone completely.
Step 8. Reboot to TWRP recovery by pressing the Power and Volume Up buttons.
Step 9. Choose “Wipe” from the main menu then choose “Advanced Wipe“.
Step 10. Select /system, /data, /cache, and /Dalvik partitions. Well, basically you need to wipe all except cust, OTG, and Micro SD partitions.
Step 11. Do the “Swipe to wipe” action and wait for the process to finish.
Step 12. Go back to Wipe > Advanced Wipe. This time you’ll be able to see the system_as_root partition.
Step 13. Now wipe that system_as_root partition.
Step 14. Do the “Swipe to wipe” action and wait for the process to finish.
Step 15. Now connect the phone to the computer using its USB cable.
Step 16. Copy the PE ROM zip file (and Magisk zip file if you wish) to the phone internal storage. Doing this is just like copying any file to/from the computer to a USB flash drive. This process is the so-called MTP mode (Media Transfer Protocol).
Alternatively, you can copy the zip file(s) to the “platform-tools” folder (refer to this folder here). Next, issue this command:
adb push PixelExperience_sakura-10.0-20190922-1222-BETA-OFFICIAL.zip /tmp/
adb push Magisk_v19.4.zip /tmp/
Step 17. Go back to the main menu of TWRP then choose “Install“.
Step 18. Locate the zip file(s) you copied. Tap on it to select it.
Step 19. Do the “Swipe to confirm flash” action. Wait till the process finished then go back to the main menu.
Step 20. Finally, choose “Reboot” then “System“.
Your phone shall reboot to the Pixel Experience for the very first time. Initial booting time may take a while. Once done, set up your Google account.
Congratulation! You have flashed Pixel Experience ROM on your Redmi 6 Pro codename Sakura.
