Xiaomi has officially announced other successors of its Redmi Note series through an online launch event. This is understandable due to COVID19 pandemic.
There are 3 series announced:
- Redmi Note 9 (the vanilla variant)
- Redmi Note 9 Pro
- and Redmi Note 9S
Previously, the company announced Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max for Indian and Chinese markets.
However, it seems the company rebrands both phones with slightly different naming nomenclature for global market.
Redmi Note 9 Pro that comes with 48MP main camera is coming for global Mi Fans as Redmi Note 9S.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, interestingly, is called as Redmi Note 9 Pro for the global release.
This will make some confusions for users not following Xiaomi news. Just like happened with Redmi Note 5 Pro (India) and Redmi Note 5 (Global). Both have same codename as Whyred since the specifications are similar.
Redmi Note 9 Pro is the same as Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, Redmi Note 9S is basically Redmi Note 9 Pro
Confuse not!
A Quick Specs Recap
To avoid confusion, we call all of these new devices as Redmi Note 9 Global series.
