Redmi Note 8T and 8 Pro Terminator Are Coming 1

Xiaomi will soon release two more editions of the recently announced Redmi Note 8 series. The Redmi Note 8 will receive a refreshed edition having the same specifications. Of course, there must be something special so the device deserves its new name.

On the other side of the earth, the side with nice earthy views obviously, the company will also release Redmi Note 8 Pro Terminator edition. The name sounds scary huh? The Terminator will arrive in Spain on October 29.

What information do we have so far about Redmi Note 8T and Redmi Note 8 Pro Terminator?

Redmi Note 8T Comes With NFC

Similar to other phone manufacturers, Xiaomi will also release 8T without drastic discrepancies in terms of hardware specifications compared to its non-T variant.

The same Qualcomm SDM665 Snapdragon 665 (11 nm) chipset comes empowering the device. The SoC boasts Octa-core CPUs consisting of 4x 2.0GHz Kryo 260 Gold and 4x 1.8GHz Kryo 260 Silver. Adreno 610 GPU also comes accompanying the monster-ish CPUs.

Similar to its non-T series, the phone will also have double protection on its front and back sides with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 technology.

The Redmi Note 8T is identical to its non-T version. Quad-cameras, a fingerprint sensor at the back, and a waterdrop display are found in this series as well.

The design still incorporates the same dimension which is 158.3 x 75.3 x 8.4 mm (6.23 x 2.96 x 0.33 in). The display screen measures 6.3 inches, 97.4 cm2 with ~81.7% screen-to-body ratio. Users can enjoy crystal clear display experience, thanks to its 1080 x 2340 pixels screen resolution and the 19.5:9 screen ratio with ~409 pixel-per-inch density.

Redmi Note 8T also boasts a quad-camera setup with following sensors (and lenses):

  • 48 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/2″, 0.8µm, PDAF
  • 8 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide), 1/4″, 1.12µm
  • 2 MP, f/2.4, 1/5″, 1.75µm (dedicated macro camera
  • 2 MP, f/2.4, 1/5″, 1.75µm, depth sensor.

Are these specifications familiar enough? Yup, because all of these specs are identical to the original Redmi Note 8. Now, what’s different?

The Redmi Note 8T comes with NFC while the original one does not.

Redmi Note 8T and 8 Pro Terminator Are Coming 2

Near-field communication or NFC is a set of communication protocols that enable two electronic devices to communicate with each other (Wikipedia). This protocol or feature may not popular in developing countries where Xiaomi flourishes. In developed countries, the case is different.

Redmi Note 8T Global version is already up for sale in Giztop even before its official release. Its price tag is $199 before the shipping cost.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Terminator Edition

Xiaomi has once again joined a partnership with Twentieth Century Fox, an American film studio that is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios.

Previously, Xiaomi has been successful with the X-Men Dark Phoniex event. The company will once again make a great hit with the next Terminator movie.

Redmi is partnering with the studio movie to release Redmi Note 8 Pro Terminator Dark Fate. Several posters have been spreading around the company’s social media. The posters tease the coming of Redmi Note 8 Pro Terminator edition 4GB/64GB variant.

There is nothing different in terms of hardware specifications. The same and identical Mediatek Helio G90T (12nm) chipset with Octa-core CPUs (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) still sits under the hood.

Its unique body design and style are the only selling point. See it below and tell us what do you think of it.

European countries are the markets for this Redmi Note 8 Pro Special Edition. The official online store of Xiaomi Spain will run a 24-hour flash sale on October 29. During this event, buyers of the phone will bring a free Terminator: Dark Fate custom case. On top of that, the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be sold for €229 instead of €249 on that day.

We expect the phone will also come to other global markets in Europe since the tease is available in the Xiaomi UK.
