The full 5G adoption is around the corner. Several carriers in mostly- developed countries start implementing 5G networks although in the NSA mode. In case you are wondering, the 5G’s SA mode means Standalone mode while NSA means Non-Standalone. The 5G NSA employs the mix of 5G and 4G to help compatible devices receive wide network coverage.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand known for value-for-money phones the Redmi will have its first 5G-compatible device. Guess what? This upcoming device supposes to be the Redmi K30.
The Redmi K series are known as flagship killer lineups. Redmi K20 Pro, for instance, comes with monster-ish hardware specification at a fraction of flagship’s price. Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro are in Europe known as the Mi 9 and Mi 9T respectively.
We may expect the Redmi K30 also the same.
At a recent event of Redmi 8 release in China, Redmi’s General Manager Mr. Lu Weibing teases a little but exciting detail about Redmi K30 specs. It will ship with dual punch-hole front cameras making its fullscreen display wider.
Furthermore, Redmi K30 will also support both SA and NSA modes of 5G connectivity. This is a good thing for sure.
At this current slow rate of 5G adoption, it will be safe to have a device that supports both 5G modes. You can then switch to a device with full 5G SA mode when the full adoption of 5G becomes common.
If we talk about Redmi, the K30 will be the first device to support 5G. However, when we talk about Xiaomi in general, there is the Mi 9 Pro 5G already.
Despite not being revealed just yet, we believe another specification of Redmi K30 will be a quad-camera setup. We’ve seen such a setup already in the Redmi Note 8 specs.
Are you excited already? What do you expect from Redmi to become available in the Redmi K30 series? What chipset will it boast? Let’s expect other teases to come.
