Last week, Xiaomi released the latest version of its skinned Android OS, the MIUI with its new user interface (UI) for a number of devices.
The update, which is MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition moniker, actually comes from the “regular” MIUI 12.5 which was released in December 2020.
However, this latest edition of MIUI boasts a number of improvements that focus mainly on the performance aspect, as the name suggests.
This means that the UI appearance including icon design, menus, notification bars, and other visual elements of the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition may not have changed drastically.
Hence, what are the differences between MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 12 Enhanced Edition in terms of feature updates?
Extreme power efficient and fast performance
Well, through this MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, Xiaomi claims the device’s power consumption will be more durable than the regular version of the MIUI 12.5 device.
The Enhanced Edition is more battery friendly while keeps delivering sleek performance.
This latest UI update is also said to be able to optimize RAM usage with the help of a patented technology called “Atomized Memory“, a feature that was absent in the initial MIUI 12.5 version.
With the new system, the MIUI devices is claimed to be able to run more applications in the background, so it will be faster to reopen anytime when needed.
Furthermore, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition also packs a new performance management algorithm called Focused Algorithms.
This feature is claimed to be able to allocate system resources based on usage scenarios. According to Xiaomi, this feature will ensure a smoother user experience when using Xiaomi phones.
Then, there is the Liquid Storage feature which is claimed to be media storage in optimal conditions so that it slows down cell phone aging.
Xiaomi claims that this special feature of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition allows the phone to only experience a 5 percent decrease in performance, after 3 years of use.
Another cool feature is so-called a Smart Balance.
It can increase or maximize the performance of various Xiaomi phones based on the hardware specifications shipped under the hood.
Besides all that, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition is also promised to bring richer experience in previously available MIUI 12.5 features.
Among them are Super Wallpaper which is now more varied, additional system applications that can be deleted and hidden, Xiaomi App Store privacy enhancements, and so much more.
