TWRP for Mi A2 (Official and Unofficial Builds)

TWRP for Mi A2 (Official and Unofficial Builds) 1

Xiaomi Mi A2 is basically a Xiaomi Mi 6X but it runs Android One OS instead of the heavily-skinned version of it, the MIUI. Specs-wise, both devices boast similar hardware. While Mi 6X has codename Wayne, the codename of Mi A2 is Jasmine_sprout.

The Mi A2 was announced last year. The company expects Mi A2 to be the next successor of Mi A1 that received good acceptance among users.

There are some parts of users tend to choose Android One over MIUI. They may have many reasons varying from UI experience, system, features, and so on. We cannot judge anyone for his/her choice tho.

Android One is an awesome ROM. It’s made by Google, maintained by Google, and updated directly by Google. Xiaomi has no direct control on it except for the device.

Having a Xiaomi Android One device allows you to enjoy the great smartphone hardware for cheap while experiencing the coolness of near-to-stock Android ecosystem.

One thing that we like so much about Xiaomi Android One devices is its bootloader unlocking process. There is no requirement to apply for official bootloader unlock permission from Xiaomi that could last for days even a couple of weeks.

Furthermore, Android One phones will receive at least two years of OS upgrades directly from Google, the founding father company of Android.

Interestingly, just like MIUI, Android One ROM is also developer-friendly. It receives many tweaks, mods, and custom developments from third-party communities.

The most important part is the release of TWRP custom recovery. TWRP is the world’s most popular custom recovery from the day it released. It supports touchscreen display so users can simply navigate through the menus conveniently.

Luckily, both the official and unofficial builds of TWRP are readily available for Xiaomi Mi A2.

The official one by Team Win Recovery Project is maintained by Manish4586. The unofficial one, on the other hand, is released and maintained by Russian 4PDA member editedd4e8ede8f1f2.

You can download all these builds down below. There are basically two parts of each build: the TWRP image file (.img) and the installer (.zip) file.

Use the image file to boot into TWRP then use the installer file to sideload the recovery to your phone.

The installer pack file is a full package containing both TWRP image and zip file along with the necessary Android Platform Tools. Packed by us.
