Google Apps (Gapps) is a set of applications suite released by Google as the maker of Android OS. It contains at least all required systems and frameworks for Google Apps to run. Usually, the mandatory app to become available is the Google Play Store app.
Nowadays, custom ROMs such as LineageOS becomes Google-less. It means that the operating system still can run smoothly without and independently from any Google apps and services. Hence, such a custom ROM does not include Gapps within its package.
Nevertheless, the popularity of the Play Store and the indispensable Google Apps such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and so on are inevitable. They are just too tempting to install, too interesting to deny, and too useful to avoid.

First, because not all custom ROMs are coming with Google Apps included. Therefore, you have to install it manually from third-party sources. Second, because Xiaomi phones (Mi, Redmi Note, or Redmi series) bought directly from China online retailers are usually running MIUI China Stable build. Any Xiaomi phones running MIUI China ROM does not come with any Gapps installed due to government restrictions.

How to Install?
- Unlock the bootloader.
- Flash TWRP.

- Boot into recovery.
- Flash Gapps zip file through TWRP.
Which one should I download?
Open Gapps packages are made specifically for either 64bit or 32bit system architecture. Most recent and mid-range Xiaomi phones are powered with ARM64 (64-bit), mostly mid-range and high-end devices. Only a few Redmi phones such as Redmi 7A are powered with the 32-bit chipset.
Flashing Gapps ARM64 on 32-bit devices or vice versa may prevent the phone from functioning (bricked).
On top of that, make sure you choose the package made for the Android version of your phone runs. Recently, Xiaomi rolls out MIUI 11 for many phones. However, not all MIUI 11 updates are based on Android 10 Q. Hence, double-check it through Settings >> About phone >> Android version.
Lastly, the above Gapps package for Android 10 was built with system-as-root aware. This is due to the fact that starting from Android 10, the root filesystem is a resident part of the system image.
