Xiaomi’s skinned version of Android OS, MIUI 11, is getting more popular with the more devices getting the updates. It sports more features under the hood along with the latest security patches. Nevertheless, it is still an Android ecosystem. You may expect similar bugs to other Android phones.
One common error that you may also face is the Play Store app stuck in the download progress for a long time. This usually happens when you want to either install a new app or update an existing one. The common symptom is the download stuck at “Waiting for download” error.
How to solve such an error of the Play Store app? Well, it seems the error happens due to Download’s Cache issue. The workaround seems simple. Follow all the steps listed below:
Solving Play Store Stuck at “Waiting for Download”
Step 1. Look for the “Downloads” app on the home screen. Usually, it is located in the Tools or Mi Tools folder.
Step 2. Tap and hold on the Downloads icon until the “App Info” popup appears. Tap on that popup.
Step 3. Next, tap the Clear Data option at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4. Choose “Clear All Data“.
That’s it. You don’t need to reboot your phone but doing it will not harm your device.
Finally, open the Play Store app and try installing the app of your choice. You shall now go without any issue.
