The newly released skinned Android OS by Xiaomi has gotten a major revamp. MIUI 11 boasts many cool features to enhance the overall user experience. One of which is Always On Display or AOD in short.

MIUI 11 AOD is a brand new feature coming to select Xiaomi Mi and Redmi phones. Once enabled, the feature allows you to have interesting information and graphical effects on the phone screen while the phone is locked. Traditionally, the screen goes blank when you’ve locked its screen.

MIUI 11 AOD brings animated watch faces, ever-changing kaleidoscope, and you can also type your own text such as your signature or slogans.

MIUI 11 AOD is currently available for devices with AMOLED display. However, it is not impossible to have it enabled on Xiaomi phones with an IPS LCD screen despite some risky effects such as battery drain, excessive heat, or increasing LCD temperature.
